Styling a TWA | TWA Hairstyles (PART ONE)

Posted Wednesday, 11 July 2012

Just because you have a TWA, it doesn't mean you don't have hairstyling options! There are plenty of ways to showcase you Teeny Weeny Afro at it best. Bottom line: Short hair does not mean no variation.

So just in case you were in need of some of inspiration on how to wear short kinky/curly hair. I've complied some of personal favourite TWA hairstyles:

Flat Twist
Flat twist are one of my favourite styling techniques because once you got the technique, they are quick and easy to do as well as really cute. You can also pair them up with twist to add an extra dimension to your hairstyle. And when your bored of your flat twist style you can untwist them and rock a curly afro a la flat twist out!.

Using Accessories
Accessories are one of the simplest way you can add variation to your hairstyles. I would advise everyone to stock up on them especially if your rocking a TWA. Be playful with them whether it's hair scarves, headbands, alice bands, clips, slides or flowers - there are so many options!

Bantu Knots
Bantu knots are what I feel is a underrated hairstyle but they are absolutely cute and easy. Just twist/twirl your hair with styling cream until the hair is tight enough to form bantu knots. And once again when your bored with bantu knots, bantu knot outs are a great styling option too!
